PERSONNEL TRAINING & TESTING

INSTRUMENTATION TECHNICIAN PROGRAM

Our Instrument Technician program is an intense, hands-on 4-month program during which the trainee will learn to calibrate pressure, level, flow and temperature transmitters and switches. The trainee will also learn to use the Fluke multimeters, HART 475, and a host of other test equipment, Start/Stop Circuit, Relay function, basic electrical principles, P&IDs, etc.

During the program, the trainee will also test on the 24 modules needed to study for the written assessment for the NCCER Instrumentation Technician certification.

By the end of the 4 months, most of our trainees will become NCCER Knowledge Verified in Instrumentation Technology. This means that they will have passed the NCCER written assessment for Instrumentation Technician. Trainees will not  be allowed to take the Performance Verification assessment during the course of the program unless the trainee has completed the requirements below:

  • Completed and passed at least 20 of the required modules.

  • Missed no more than four (2) days for TTH and two (1) days for SAT of the 16 weeks.

    • Any trainee that misses more than 2 days must schedule make up time outside of the class scheduled days.

    • If the trainee fails to make up the missed days before the class ends, the trainee must enroll in a refresher course at additional expense.

  • Completely paid off all program fees.

  • Provide proof of journey-level field experience.

While this result is not guaranteed for all, we will work with the trainee for their success. Fees for module testing and written assessments are included in the cost of the class.
